The Nigeria Police Force has arrested 27-year-old Hafsat Abubakar for allegedly creating and circulating a forged document claiming that fintech company OPay Nigeria Limited was shutting down operations. The arrest was announced by Force Public Relations Officer Anietie Iniedu during a press briefing at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja. The investigation followed a formal petition from OPay Digital Services Limited on August 31, 2026, requesting action against those responsible for the document.
