Nigerian academic and technology leader Professor Celestine Iwendi has been nominated for the Community Leadership & Empowerment Award – Strategic Excellence at the Black History Month Recognition Evening 2026 in the UK. The award, organized by the Caribbean & African Health Network, celebrates individuals demonstrating outstanding leadership and community impact. The ceremony is scheduled for October 24, 2026, in Manchester. Iwendi described the nomination as an honour and a call to service.
