He noted that generative AI makes it easier to create convincing fake images, videos, and audio, making it harder for citizens to verify authentic political communication. The greater risk, he said, is the erosion of trust in genuine evidence, leaving voters uncertain about what to believe. The challenge ahead is not just misinformation but establishing the authenticity of online political content.
