Airtel Africa has announced plans to invest $1.1 billion in expanding and upgrading its network infrastructure across its operations in Africa. The company's CEO, Sunil Kumar Taldar, revealed that capital expenditure has already increased from about $120 million to $390 million across 14 markets, with Nigeria being its largest market. Taldar emphasized that this investment is crucial for enhancing customer experience and network quality. He also noted that only about half of the population in Airtel's markets currently uses telecom services, indicating significant growth potential.
