The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHED) has distributed free electricity meters to selected government schools in Rivers State and educated students on electrical safety as part of its 2026 Corporate Social Responsibility programme. The initiative, held at Government Model Secondary School in Port Harcourt, aims to improve the learning environment and reduce electrical hazards. PHED's Head of Communications, Mrs. Olubukola Olawale, said the programme demonstrates the company's commitment to giving back to communities, emphasizing that the company's role goes beyond bill collection.
