The Nigerian stock market experienced a significant decline, with the All-Share Index dropping by 2,579.01 basis points, or 1.05 per cent, to close at 242,223.10 basis points. Market capitalisation also fell by N1.67 trillion to close at N157.050 trillion. The downturn was driven by price depreciation in large and medium capitalised stocks, including Nestle Nigeria, BUA Cement, Nigerian Breweries, Cadbury Nigeria, and Oando. This marked the second consecutive bearish session, reducing the year-to-date return to 55.66 per cent, with 43 losers outpacing 11 gainers.
