The Nasarawa State Government has directed the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to commence an advocacy campaign across the state to ensure that out-of-school children return to the classroom. The government is also considering the establishment of mobile courts to prosecute parents whose children are found loitering on the streets during school hours. The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Public Affairs, Mr Peter Ahemba, disclosed this during his bi-monthly media briefing in Lafia. Ahemba said the government had directed SUBEB to collaborate with the state Ministry of Justice on the possibility of establishing mobile courts to handle cases involving parents who fail to send their children to school.
