Facts Emerge How FG’s N17bn Intervention Funding Given to NFF Was Used to Settle Debts

A former member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) executive committee has stated that the N17 billion intervention funding given to the sacked board should not be treated in isolation or as evidence of financial wrongdoings. This response follows claims by the National Sports Commission (NSC) Chairman, Malam Shehu Dikko, that the immediate past NFF board received better funding than any previous board. Dikko compared the N17 billion intervention funds released to the Ibrahim Gusau-led board with the approximately N15 billion total received by the Amaju Melvin Pinnick-led board over eight years.
