Edo State marked its 35th anniversary, and two days later, Governor Monday Okpebholo celebrated his 56th birthday. The occasions prompted an outpouring of political goodwill from senators, former governors, traditional rulers, Benin leaders, party chiefs, political aspirants, government officials, grassroots groups, and the Diaspora, who used newspapers and digital platforms to express their messages. Some returned to the newspapers for a second day. Beyond the celebrations, questions remain about what will endure after the advertisements disappear.
