Opposition political parties in Rivers State have expressed divergent views on the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general election, with some rejecting the alliance and stating it does not threaten their political interests. Success Jack, Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the state, said on a monitored radio programme in Port Harcourt that the opposition parties were not intimidated by the coalition, describing it as a gathering of politicians interested in political power and claiming it has lost the confidence of the people. Meanwhile, the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State has denied claims that it is working with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general election. Hon. Chibuike Ikenga, Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, also spoke on a radio programme monitored in Port Harcourt.
