Four separate lawsuits challenging the candidacy of Senator Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, have been withdrawn, according to his media aide, Kayode Odunaro. Odunaro said in a statement on Wednesday that the cases were discontinued at different times as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election. He said no reasons were stated for the withdrawals but claimed the litigants had become convinced of the merit of Adeola's candidacy and decided to support his bid. One of the cases, FHC/AB/CS/87/26, was filed by Awolola Awoniyi under the Freedom of Information Act 2011 against Adeola, INEC, APC, Guardian Newspapers Limited and the Inspector-General of Police. Another suit, FHC/ABJ/CS/844/26, was instituted by Akerele Abiodun John, Ogun State chairman of the Booth Party.
