The federal government has released full payment of the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA) to academic staff of federal universities, polytechnics, and Colleges of Education for January to August 2026. Minister of Education Dr. Tunji Alausa announced the payment and warned that officials who manipulate accreditation exercises risk losing their jobs, while private institutions could have their licences revoked. He also directed all federal universities to move their advancement offices from registrars' offices to direct supervision of vice-chancellors.
