The United Kingdom Government has awarded Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships to 68 Nigerians for postgraduate studies in the UK. The beneficiaries, selected through highly competitive processes, will undertake master's and PhD programmes during the 2026 academic session. Of the 68, 12 secured the Chevening Scholarship, while 56 were awarded Commonwealth scholarships. Pre-departure ceremonies were held in Abuja and Lagos, where Chargée d'Affaires of the British High Commission in Nigeria, Ms. Vicky Seymour, described the scheme as an investment in Nigeria's future.
