Nigerian High Commissioner to Kenya Danlami Ibrahim said Nigerians in Kenya are going about their normal businesses without molestation following the Kenyan government's threat to crack down on foreign-owned small businesses. Ibrahim told LEADERSHIP on Wednesday that Nigerians have not panicked over the policy announced last week by Kenyan President Ruto, which gave September 7, 2026, as the take-off date for implementation. The envoy said he had met with Nigerian community leaders, professionals, and socio-cultural organizations, and there was nothing to fear as the policy is not targeted at Nigerians. He added that most petty trading is done by citizens of some East African countries.
