Don seeks abortion law review to protect interests of unborn children

Professor Olufemi Oloyede of Olabisi Onabanjo University has called for a review of Nigeria's abortion law to better protect the rights and interests of unborn children. He made the call during the university's 130th inaugural lecture, where he delivered a lecture titled 'To Live or Not to Live: Navigating Ethical Dilemmas in Fetal Medicine.' Oloyede argued that the law has historically focused on the mother's interests and should also consider the condition of the fetus, especially in cases of severe abnormalities. He spoke with journalists after the lecture.
