Two children, identified as Safiya Muddaha and Nura Abdulrashid, were killed in Yarliya'u community of Kurfi Local Government Area of Katsina State. Residents alleged they were murdered after identifying a man suspected of stealing goats in the area. The children were reportedly attacked on Sunday while grazing goats in a bush near the community. Residents said the children were among those tending to about 50 goats when a suspected thief allegedly stole two animals. The suspect later returned and slaughtered the two children, apparently to prevent them from revealing his identity. Relatives Abdulrashid Sulaiman and Jibrin Yarliya'u said the incident left the families devastated and the community traumatized.
