T-Pain, whose real name is Faheem Rashad Najm, filed a lawsuit against Akon's Konvict Entertainment in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia on September 4. The suit accuses the label of breaching both his 2005 recording agreement and a settlement reached in 2025. According to the lawsuit, Konvict received $1,304,127 from a distributor in March 2026 for sales of T-Pain's music from the second half of 2025, but part of the money was transferred to BuVision, an affiliate label managed by Akon's younger brother. T-Pain claims he is owed $489,047 in royalties, as his agreement entitles him to 75 percent of net royalties Konvict receives.
