The Benue State Police Command has arrested 46 suspects in connection with an attack on the convoy of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), along the Gboko-Makurdi Expressway. The Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, said the arrests followed intelligence-led operations and that more arrests will follow. He clarified that the command was informed of Obi's visit and had deployed adequate security, including three police escort vehicles led by an assistant commissioner of police. Obi's movement was obstructed by a group of persons.
