A fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by Adeniyi Adeyemi, Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), suffered a setback on Thursday. Adeyemi sued the Attorney-General of the Federation, Inspector-General of Police, Nigeria Police Force, and Assistant-Inspector-General of Police. Through his lawyer, Ademola Oyedokun, he sought six reliefs before Justice Obiora Egwuatu, including bail, release from detention, and permission to seek medical attention. Adeyemi, currently in police custody, also sought an order restraining the police from interrogating him without his lawyer present.
