Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, a former governorship candidate, has denied sponsoring the recent protest against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), calling reports linking him to the demonstration false and misleading. The protest was organized by the Coalition of Kogi East Youths Association on Wednesday at INEC's national headquarters in Abuja, over alleged marginalization of Kogi East in the creation of additional political wards. The protesters claimed that Kogi East, despite having the highest population and voter turnout, was excluded from the ward expansion while Kogi West and Kogi Central benefited. Ajaka issued a statement through his Head of Media and Public Communications, Prince, distancing himself from the protest.
