Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has said that any proposal for an alliance with other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 election must first be negotiated at the party level. He made this statement during an interview on Arise TV on Thursday while responding to questions about a possible alliance between the NDC and the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Obi noted that since parties have already produced candidates, such deliberations would require the involvement of the parties themselves. He compared the idea to merging two corporations, where the heads of the organizations would be involved.
