Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has unveiled an agriculture-led plan to tackle poverty and gain support in Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 election. In an interview with Arise News, Obi said his administration would invest in agriculture, education, healthcare, and skills development, and revive industries in the region. He rejected calls to restore fuel subsidy, arguing that investment in economic potential is the solution to poverty in the North.
