Atomic bomb survivor who became Japan’s hit king dies at 86

A survivor of the atomic bombing of Japan who later became a hit king in Japanese professional baseball has died at the age of 86. He entered professional baseball in 1959 with the Toei Flyers and went on to play for the Yomiuri Giants and Lotte Orions before retiring in 1981. His career spanned over two decades in Japan's top baseball league.
