Stakeholders including the European Union, EFCC, ANEEJ, and others have warned that illicit funds are fuelling terrorism and underdevelopment in Africa. A two-day conference in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, organised by a coalition led by the Africa Network for Environmental and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) with support from the EU and SeCFin Africa, aims to train civil society organisations and media professionals to tackle illicit financial flows. The conference theme is 'Strengthening CSOs and Media Capacity to Contribute to the Fight Against Illicit Financial Flows'.
