Chief Chekwas Okorie, National Chairman of the Igbo Agenda Dialogue, has condemned the reported blocking of Peter Obi from paying a humanitarian visit to Yelwata community in Benue State. Okorie described the incident as "one provocation too many" and said preventing Obi from visiting victims of the June attack was dangerous and condemnable. He recalled an open letter he wrote to President Bola Tinubu on March 12, 2026, warning against actions capable of heightening political tensions, and cited other incidents involving Obi's planned visits.
