A fire incident occurred on Wednesday evening at the Idu Train Station in Abuja, damaging some electrical installations but causing no loss of life. The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) confirmed that the minor fire affected the low-voltage electrical room at about 8:30 p.m. on September 9 and was promptly contained by maintenance personnel. Preliminary inspection showed damage to some electrical supply cables connected to control panels, but the station's alternative solar power system was unaffected. Power was temporarily restored to lifts and escalators, and Abuja-Kaduna train services remained unaffected.
