Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Egypt, Sisira Senavirathne, met with the Chairman of the Egyptian Chamber of Commerce in Ismailia, Akram Hussein Al-Shafei, and executive board members on August 26, 2026. The meeting discussed trade and investment opportunities and ways to strengthen bilateral economic relations. Over 20 business representatives attended, and Sri Lanka Expo 2027 was promoted.
