The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) condemned the attack on the convoy of Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi on the Makurdi-Gboko highway in Benue State. IPAC alleged that youths were sponsored to block and attack Obi, who was traveling to Yelwata in Guma Local Government Area to visit families affected by the June 2025 killings. The council stated that the police had been notified of the visit and warned that preventing a presidential candidate from entering a state is an invitation to anarchy as the country enters an electoral season. IPAC also said the action violated Obi's constitutional right to freedom of movement.
