The Commission indicated that the changes were made by court order as part of its compliance with a judgment concerning the party's logo and national executive structure. According to INEC's political parties portal, the NDC is listed with its acronym, and its party logo is marked as updated by court order. The development followed a judgment delivered on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, by Justice J.O. Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1814/2026, which the party instituted after challenging INEC's refusal to recognise and publish its modified logo and colour scheme.
