UN Secretary-General António Guterres congratulated Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election and second-term inauguration. Hichilema was re-elected on August 13, 2026, and sworn in on September 1, 2026. Guterres expressed confidence in continued close partnership between Zambia and the UN.
