YouTuber Markiplier will get $15 million from GoPro's merger, but says he's disappointed in the deal

YouTube creator Markiplier, whose real name is Mark Fischbach, holds an 8.5% stake in GoPro and is set to receive a $15 million cash payment from the company's planned merger with an optical transceiver firm. In an interview with Business Insider, he expressed disappointment with the proposed deal and said he would vote against it. Markiplier, who has nearly 40 million subscribers and recently directed and starred in the film "Iron Lung," built his stake after learning about a new GoPro camera with professional cinema capabilities.
