The United States government has donated military equipment to Nigeria to strengthen security collaboration between the two nations. Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga announced on Thursday via his verified X handle that a United States Air Force C-17 aircraft delivered the equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of a partnership agreement. According to Onanuga, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) described the delivery, which occurred last weekend, as a demonstration of the growing security partnership aimed at countering terrorism and other security threats in the region. AFRICOM noted that the equipment is part of a foreign military sales agreement designed to further the U.S.-Nigeria defence partnership.
