Eritrea: Meeting to Review Progress of Civic Education

The Ministry of Education held a meeting on 8 and 9 September in Asmara to assess the progress of civic education. Attendees included representatives of regional administrations, heads of the PFDJ and national organizations, heads of departments and branches of the Ministry of Education, and other concerned institutions. Mr. Zemihret Yohannes, head of Research and Documentation at the PFDJ, said civic education has reached a promising stage despite being introduced relatively recently, and called for preserving and building on achievements. He noted that the meeting would help review activities and design future programs, and research papers on the background, objectives, and pillars of civic education were presented.
