Palantir cofounder Joe Lonsdale criticized President Donald Trump's proposal to send $5,000 checks to adult US citizens if Republicans retain control of Congress. Lonsdale, a GOP donor who endorsed Trump in 2024, called the idea a "bribe" and compared it to "bread and circuses" in a post on X. He expressed support for winning the midterms but opposed the cash proposal.
