An Atoms4Food assessment mission in Liberia, conducted by the IAEA and FAO from 19 to 24 July 2026, identified opportunities to strengthen food security, improve nutrition, and boost agricultural productivity. Twelve experts collaborated with national counterparts to evaluate challenges across Liberia's agrifood systems and determine where nuclear and related technologies can provide practical solutions. The mission involved government ministries, laboratories, universities, research centres, farmers, and development partners. Its findings will inform a Country Assessment Report and a national Action Plan to guide future investments and capacity building.
