Mohammed Ashiru, the 2027 governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, has accused security operatives of attacking party members during a rally in Kaduna. In a statement issued by his spokesman, Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi, Ashiru alleged that ADC members and supporters were harassed and intimidated during Wednesday's rally organised by the Arise & Shine Isa Ashiru Support Group. He claimed that operatives of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS) disrupted the gathering, seized phones and valuables, and that two female members sustained injuries and were hospitalised. The state government has denied the allegations, while the police cited traffic and security concerns.
