A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced Odigie Moses to one year imprisonment for defrauding an Indian woman of $1,100 and blackmailing her with a nude video. Justice C.N. Nwabulu convicted Moses on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, after he pleaded guilty to charges of cheating and impersonation as a spiritualist. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stated that Moses posed as a spiritual leader on a fictitious TikTok account and received the money through Zelle, later laundering it into his local bank account. He also deceived the victim into taking a naked spiritual bath, which he recorded without consent, and used the video for blackmail.
