The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Adamu Musa, for allegedly impersonating a senior police officer and defrauding members of the public. Musa, a resident of Kureken Sani Quarters, Kano, was arrested following a distress report over his activities at the 52 Police Mobile Force (PMF), Challawa, Kano, on September 1, 2026. According to the command, operatives of the Panshekara Police Division acted on credible intelligence and arrested Musa after he allegedly posed as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). Preliminary investigations showed that the suspect allegedly targeted unsuspecting members of the public by claiming to be a senior police officer with the influence to facilitate recruitment and postings within the Nigeria Police Force. The police said Musa allegedly used edited photographs and AI-generated images showing him alongside senior strategic commanders of the Nigeria Police Force to make his claims appear legitimate.
