Oracle maintains its capex forecast and reports cloud growth, sending shares up 7%

Oracle reported $28.5 billion in first-quarter capital expenditures, up from $8.5 billion a year earlier, and maintained its fiscal 2027 capital expenditure forecast at $90 billion to $95 billion, including data centre spending. The forecast is unchanged from guidance first issued in June. The company reported 121% cloud growth, sending its shares up 7% following the earnings report. Oracle is also touting new financing models amid pressure to balance AI spending and profitability.
