The Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) reported that the manufacturing sector recorded the strongest business performance in August 2026. The Current Business Performance Index (CBPI) rose to 112.7 points, up from 108.6 in July 2026 and 107.3 in August 2025. Despite the expansion, businesses faced constraints such as inadequate power supply, limited access to financing, high rental costs, insecurity, and infrastructural challenges. These factors contributed to heightened cost pressures across the sector.
