The Association of African Air Forces (AAAF) has taken steps to strengthen continental airpower cooperation and institutional continuity. A high-level planning conference was held from 31st August to 4th September 2026 at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, hosted by USAFE-AFAFRICA. Participants included members of the AAAF Permanent Secretariat, AAAF Exercise 2027 planners, liaison officers, working-group representatives and subject-matter experts. Squadron Leader Olayinka Lawal said the conference provided a platform to translate decisions from the 2026 conference into practical, African-led mechanisms for enhanced cooperation.
