The National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW) has raised over 500,000 seedlings of various tree species for planting across Jigawa State to combat environmental degradation. Director-General Alhaji Sale Abubakar disclosed this during a field visit to project sites in Jigawa. He said Jigawa is among the northern states implementing the Great Green Wall project under President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. The seedlings for the 2026 season will be used at project sites and distributed to communities and institutions. Sale said the project targets 50 hectares for refilling, 50 hectares for new plantations, and a 10 km stretch.
