The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) revoked the licences of six insurance companies following a recapitalisation exercise mandated by NIIRA 2025. The revocation has raised concerns among policyholders about their claims and premium contributions. Policyholders are to be settled from the Insurance Policyholders' Protection Fund (IPPF), funded by 0.25 per cent of insurers' net premium.
