Reaction As AON Says No Nigerian Airline Makes $1m Profit Annually

The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has stated that no indigenous carrier makes $1 million in annual profit. AON Vice President and Air Peace Chairman Allen Onyema disclosed this at the 30th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents in Lagos. He cited taxes, levies, high interest rates, and aviation fuel costs as consuming a significant portion of operating income, warning that the environment makes survival and competition with foreign airlines increasingly difficult.
