The Kenya Navy has commenced a Service Members Basic Conversion Course aimed at strengthening the professional capacity of its personnel. The training programme is designed to equip service members with the knowledge, practical skills and professional values needed to operate naval systems and execute assigned missions. Commander Kenya Navy Fleet, Brigadier Mohammed Shemote, officiated the start of the course on 10 September 2026. The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to sustain operational readiness and protect Kenya's maritime interests.
