The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said it could revive its suspended industrial action "without any further notice" if the authorities fail to address the incomplete implementation of the December 2025 agreement. The union also demanded the payment of the remaining 3.5 months of withheld salaries and the remittance of billions of naira deducted from lecturers' earnings. The threat comes amid ongoing tensions between the union and the Federal Government as well as state governments.
