The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chairman of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Dr Rufus Egbagba, has condemned the growing practice of residents and social media influencers filming police officers during private moments, particularly while eating at restaurants. He spoke at the PCRC office in Abuja on Thursday in reaction to a trending video of police officers allegedly recorded while eating at a restaurant in Kubwa, Abuja. Egbagba expressed concern over the trend of recording officers during stop-and-search operations and in personal lives, saying it raises questions about accountability, privacy, and proper police-public interactions. He also said the recent position of the Inspector-General of Police, Rilwan Olatunji, should not be misinterpreted as an attempt to shield erring officers.
