The 2027 governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kaduna State, Mohammed Ashiru, has accused security operatives of attacking the party’s members during a political rally in Kaduna on Wednesday. In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Abdulwaheed Olayinka Adubi, it was reported that some ADC members were attacked during a rally organised by the Arise & Shine Isa Ashiru Support Group to mark the flag-off of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly campaigns. The statement alleged that the peaceful rally was disrupted by members of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS), who allegedly harassed and intimidated participants. It was further reported that some members had their phones and other valuables taken from them, and two female members of the party sustained injuries.
