Deaths linked to antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections to rise to 39m by 2050 – Don

A professor of Veterinary Microbiology at the University of Ilorin, Mashood Raji, has said that global deaths directly attributable to antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections are expected to rise to 39 million between now and 2050. He made this known while delivering the 307th inaugural lecture of the university, titled 'Microbes: Invisible Enemies of Human and Livestock'. Raji highlighted the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance to both human and animal health.
