The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have initiated probes into the alleged diversion of USAID funds. The FBI said some organisations were suspected of mismanaging or diverting funds provided to them before the affected programmes were shut down. The investigation is ongoing.
